The steady base of the year is personal: birthdays for every age, baby showers, gender reveals, engagements and weddings, home anniversaries. These do not follow the calendar and are ordered week after week.
On top of that sit the dates everyone books at once. UAE National Day on 2 December fills the city with red, green, white and black; Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha bring family gatherings and majlis decoration; graduation season in May and June turns schools and universities into photo zones; Valentine and Mother's Day in March concentrate flower and balloon gifting into a couple of days.
The business side has its own rhythm: store and restaurant openings, brand activations in malls, staff celebrations, and end-of-year corporate parties in the cooler months when outdoor events become comfortable again.
